The Journey... So Far

The Journey... So Far

It has been so long! Our lives and our day-to-day activities have changed so much from just a couple of months ago, so here I will try to give a quick recap of what the adventure looks like now!

Travel Journey. We moved to Georgia from California for a couple of reasons. First, because I believed my "dream job" was here waiting for me. Second, the thought of starting a new beginning on our own in the world excited us. Lastly, not to sound too weird, but the idea of finding my "purpose" in life.

Job Journey. So I quit my editing job in California and we packed up everything and moved to Georgia. Took over the gaming channel HNG (HIT Network Gaming) which was amazing! I built an amazing studio/gaming room.

After a great year of creating studio sets, content and just having a blast at work. The company had major layoffs and I was stuck looking for a job in a new state. I was sad and nervous, but quickly got a job as a postal carrier. Working for the USPS was awesome! Once you gather all your packages and mail, you set off on your route and YOU are the boss. It was nice, but the schedule was terrible. Working six days a week, sometimes 12 hour days. I am not a fan, but there is one good thing Hilary Clinton said which was;

"Do not confuse having a career with having a life."

The schedule was absolutely atrocious. No work life balance and so I was on the look again for another job. While working at the gaming studio I met a bunch of amazing people. Some of these amazing people were firemen. I remember them telling me to try it out, since I was 6'4" and about 300 lbs. So I applied, months and months go by and I get through all the hoops and interviews. Pass the physical test (BARELY) and get accepted as a recruit!

And that is where the job journey ends as of right now. I am currently working as a recruit firefighter, basically in school to become an advanced EMT and once I finish the fire side ill become a sworn in firefighter. We do intense PT everyday and I have already lost twenty pounds! That summer body is COMING!

Anyway once I graduate and get into a station, my schedule will really open up, 24 hours on 48 hours off. Every workday will be a Friday! Allowing more time for family and scratching my creative itch!

Nikki is working hard still as a badass nurse! Saving lives and taking care of others. Also, a fantastic mother to our cute little Emmy! On her free time she is creating adorable creatures with crochet. You can find her awesomeness on her Instagram at "squishy.stitch"

Life is overwhelming at times but, tough things are usually worth it! Hope to be posting more and more! Stay Tuned!

Cheers!
